I tried to change perspective with my son for a moment. If I were him, I would have felt that at some point my mom wouldn’t forgive me. Are there times where she may not love me? Is she gonna judge me? Should I share the truth with her next time?

That’s not the vision I want to create with my son (or daughter). I want my children to remember how much I love them unconditionally, understood them and helped them accomplish their dreams. I want them to remember specific times we shared together – times we laughed, times we cried and times they spent sharing their most important thoughts and feelings with me.

My extra 2 words at the end (“this time“) doesn’t create that vision. In fact, it destroys it.

That got me thinking. Would if Jesus had said, “I’ll forgive you… this time?” It changes the energy. I’d never feel truly loved for who I am by Jesus. Glad he doesn’t want me to perfect all the time. Whew! And I don’t need my kids to be either for me to always forgive and love them.
